CIS 5000 - Professional and Applied Learning Credits: 0 Professional and Applied Learning offers master’s students a valuable opportunity to integrate academic theory with professional practice. This course, required each semester of enrollment, allows students to engage in either a practicum/internship directly related to their field of study or a faculty-supervised project applying coursework to a professional setting. Students must work an average of 20 hours per week while enrolled in at least two other graduate-level courses within a 16-week semester, maintaing a 3.0 GPA. The university establishes Collaborative/Cooperative Agreements with all practicum or internship sites, ensuring alignment with the student’s program of study. While a maximum of six Professional and Appied Learning courses can be taken, only three are permitted per academic period. This non-credit course is graded on a credit/no-credit basis and is integral to the hybrid-formatted master’s program at Southwest Baptist Univeristy.
