BUS 5053 - Global Business Practice and Opportunity Credits: 3 (Spring) Cross-listed: BUS 4053
This course equips students to deal effectively with the challenges of establishing and managing international subsidiaries. It includes identifying and evaluating international opportunities and risks as well as the fundamentals of international sales and distribution. It also introduces students to the important roles of international organizations such as the World Bank, IMF, WTO, EXLM, PEFCO, OPIC, OPEC, regional development banks, and a variety of key trade agreements. Students enrolled in the course will either participate in an extensive course project or a structured one-week international business experience. The cost of the trip will vary from year to year and will be an additional expense borne by the students choosing to participate. Course Fee: $2000
