EDU 5023 - Curriculum Design and Development Credits: 3 Cross-listed: EDU 3023
This course examines curriculum and the dynamics of planning and implementing daily, unit, and yearlong instruction based on state standards utilizing a variety of assessments in the early childhood and elementary classroom. Teacher candidates will explore formative and summative assessments, analyze grading practices, interpret standardized tests and statewide assessments, proctor individual skill or academic assessments, and investigate the classroom teacher’s role in district accreditation through the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP). The ultimate goal is for the teacher to analyze learner progress, curriculum planning, and reflective self-improvement to enhance student learning.
