PTH 5013 - Psychosocial Issues of Health Care

Introduction to the process of professional socialization through an understanding of the interaction between the student, health professionals, and society as it relates to Christian and worldview biases. Psychological and sociological effects of impairments, functional limitations, and disability resulting from injury or disease, as applicable to the patient, client, family, and therapist. Communication skills are presented including conflict resolution, individual and cultural differences, interview, and group processes. Emphasis on increased awareness of self and interaction with others.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the PT program.
